Dr. Boediono Nominated as Candidate for Vice President of the
Republic of Indonesia
|
Dr. Boediono, Governor of Bank Indonesia, was nominated as a candidate
for the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia on 15 May 2009. In
light of this, Dr. Boediono has resigned from his current position as
Governor of Bank Indonesia to the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
The resignation took effect as of 16 May 2009.

Dr. Miranda S. Goeltom Appointed Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia
|
With the resignation of Dr. Boediono, the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank
Indonesia, Dr. Miranda S. Goeltom, was appointed the Acting Governor as
of 19 May 2009.
From 1993-1997, Dr. Goeltom was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister of
Monetary and Fiscal Policy for the Economic and Financial Development of
RI. Subsequently, from 1997-2003, she was nominated as the Deputy Governor
of Bank Indonesia and selected as the Alternate Governor for Indonesia at
the World Bank. Dr. Goeltom was later named Senior Deputy Governor of
Bank Indonesia in 2004.
Dr. Goeltom was born in Jakarta on 19 June 1949 and is a graduate of
Economics from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta. She earned her MA
and PhD in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics at Boston
University, Massachusetts, USA.
