Objective: The main aim of the Course is for participants to learn how central banks can apply information from financial market based indicators to assess risks and vulnerability in the financial systems. In achieving this, participants will learn to (i) describe the characteristics, development and interdependency of modern financial instruments; (ii) analyse linkages between monetary policy and financial stability; (iii) describe central bank challenges due to changes to the financial environment; and (iv) analyse how central banks can use information from financial-market-based indicators in assessing risks and vulnerability in the financial systems.
Resource Persons: The faculty of resource persons will be drawn from Deutsche Bundesbank, FSI and central banks in the Asia-Pacific region.
Target Group: The target audience is central bank staff involved in banking supervision, macro-surveillance and financial stability analysis. Participants should already have some working experience in the related areas.
