6th SEACEN/ABAC/ABA/PECC Public-Private Dialogue for the Asia Pacific Region

The 6th Public-Private Dialogue for the Asia-Pacific Region was conducted in collaboration with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), Asian Bankers’ Association (ABA) and Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC). This year's Dialogue was The SEACEN Centre's sixth collaboration with ABAC, ABA and PECC and will reinforced the value of engagements between senior public and private financial sector, multilateral and academic experts.

Objectives: The Dialogue served as a forum for the delegates to share their views and expectations. With the theme "The Role of the Financial Sector in Sustaining Economic Growth and Stability", it served to (i) enhance the understanding of the roles of various players in financial sector in sustaining economic growth and stability, (ii) highlight the linkages between various sectors and their impact to economic growth and financial stability, and (iii) promote collaborations to achieve regional and global financial stability.

Resource Persons: The Chairpersons and Panellists for the Dialogue sessions were drawn from international supervisory authorities, private sector financial institutions, APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), Asian Bankers Association (ABA), Pacific-Economic Cooperation Council (PECC), SEACEN member central banks, deposit insurance corporations and international organisations.

Target Group: 46 delegates from 32 institutions of 16 countries in the Asia-Pacific region attended the Dialogue. The delegates comprised directors of supervision and regulation; and officers involved in the financial stability development of central banks/regulatory authorities in the SEACEN countries and the Asia-Pacific region as well as officers of private sector institutions including commercial banks and financial institutions.
