The Seminar will, through the action planning approach, leverage on actual case experiences by international experts as well as from the Asia Pacific region. Participants will be able to role-play their leadership skills in managing international case scenarios. For the benefit of senior officials of bank supervisory authorities in the SEACEN and Asia Pacific region, this one-week leadership Seminar will also include Asian banking experiences. In order to provide senior supervisors and regulators with the capacity to drive and manage change; and enhance the quality of supervision and regulation in line with the Core Principles, the Toronto Centre will introduce their approaches to promoting changes on the ground.
Objectives: At the end of the Seminar, participants will be able to: (i) assess the various cross border issues and challenges in supervising banks; (ii) develop a solution or action plan to deal with those issues; and (iii) implement those action plans via a five-step execution process (viz. confirm charter, organise team, gather resources, establish governance and monitor achievements)
Resource Persons: The faculty of programme leaders/resource speakers for the Seminar will be invited from the Toronto Centre, SEACEN member central banks and international financial institutions, who are directly involved in financial supervision and the process of resolving banking problems.
Target Group: The target group of participants for the Seminar will be senior officers of central banks/monetary authorities, ministries of finance and financial supervisory authorities who are familiar with financial system oversight and have more than 5 years experience in the abovementioned area or are currently working in this area.
