23rd Meeting of SEACEN Directors of Supervision/12th SEACEN Conference of Directors of Supervision of Asia-Pacific Economies

The 23rd Meeting of SEACEN Directors of Supervision was a closed-door session during which the heads of supervision departments of the SEACEN member central banks/monetary authorities reviewed training activities on banking supervision for OY 2010/11, and discussed the required training events on financial stability and banking supervision for the following operating year. A total of 22 delegates from 15 SEACEN member central banks/monetary authorities attended the Meeting. Meanwhile, Ms Dolores B. Yuvienco, Assistant Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, gave a presentation on “Colleges of Supervisors – Considerations in SEACEN Member Countries” during the Meeting.

In conjunction with the 23rd Meeting, the 12th SEACEN Conference of Directors of Supervision of the Asia-Pacific Economies was held to provide a forum for senior bank supervisors to discuss challenges and issues of common concern that relates to international standards, best practices, policy guidance and approaches toward strengthening banking supervision in emerging countries. The theme for the Conference was “Towards Regional and Global Financial Stability – Risk Management Framework and Practices”. The Conference was held back-to-back with the SEACEN Meeting of SEACEN Directors of Supervision and the 6th SEACEN/ABAC/ABA/PECC Public-Private Dialogue. The speakers for the Conference were drawn from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and Bank of Japan. A total of 30 delegates from 17 economies attended the Conference.
