The recently established BIS Innovation Hub (BISIH) is led by Benoît Cœuré with multi-disciplinary teams located in Hong Kong SAR, Singapore and Switzerland. The BISIH has a three part mandate to (i) identify and develop in-depth insights into critical trends in financial technology of relevance to central banks; (ii) explore the development of public goods to enhance the functioning of the global financial system and (iii) serve as a focal point for a network of central bank experts on innovation. The webinar will look at the proposed work of the BIS Innovation Hub in Singapore and will then share some of the current international thinking on the benefits, risks and implementation issues related to wholesale and retail Central Bank Digital Currencies.
The presenter will be Andrew McCormack, Head of the BIS Innovation Hub in Singapore and the panellists will include staff from the SEACEN Centre, Henry Holden, Advisor, Swiss Hub, Bank for International Settlements, and Adam Cotter, Head of Asia and Chief Representative of the OMFIF Asia office in Singapore.
