About This Seminar:
Central banks around the world are currently raising policy rates due to inflationary pressures stemming from supply bottlenecks, increased domestic demand after the COVID-19 pandemic and the implications of the military conflict in Ukraine on many important commodities. The panel discussion will address how this development has affected capital inflows in SEACEN member economies so far and what the prospects for capital flows might be going forward. As well as the use and effectiveness of policy measures dealing with capital inflows, it will also investigate what some of the future challenges on capital flows management and what the warrant policy considerations could be.
