Ayse Sungur in Shenzhen

Ms. Ayse Sungur, Senior Financial Market Infrastructure Expert at The SEACEN Centre, served as a guest lecturer at the China-IMF Capacity Development Center (CICDC) Course on Central Bank Digital Currencies: Principles and Policy Considerations in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, in February 2024.

During her session, Ayse shared insights into SEACEN member jurisdictions' experiences with CBDC strategies. Among the participants were representatives from the People’s Bank of China (PBC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOF), and the central banks of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. Supported by the South-East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Research and Training Centre (The SEACEN Centre), the course aims to enhance institutional capacity and collaboration among central banks and relevant authorities in the South, Southeast, and East Asian regions.
