Global Trade Outlook 2025: Tariffs and Uncertainty Weigh on Growth

Description

The WTO’s latest Global Trade Outlook and Statistics report projects a 0.2% decline in world merchandise trade volume in 2025, driven by rising tariffs and growing trade policy uncertainty. For the first time, the report includes volume-based forecasts for services trade, which is also set to slow. Regional impacts differ sharply, with North America pulling growth into negative territory and US–China tensions reshaping global trade flows.

Featuring Guest Speaker Ralph Ossa, Chief Economist and Director, World Trade Organisation.
