Host: Central Bank of Sri Lanka

Activate: SEACEN Course on the Leader in Me

Description

SEACEN ACTIVATE Leadership Courses are designed to help experienced middle managers examine and strengthen their leadership practice and people management capabilities, and apply practical approaches that enable effective execution and collaboration within their Central Banks in an increasingly dynamic environment.

In today’s evolving landscape, leadership in Central Banks goes beyond the traditional notions of command and control and requires a multi-faceted skill set, navigating paradoxes while staying true to oneself.

The “Leader in Me” will tackle defining one’s leadership brand, cultivating emotional intelligence, and building resilience. Self and social awareness will be critical in the leader’s ability to navigate complexity.  Through practical exercises, participants will be taken through a journey that will challenge their assumptions about leadership, as well as apply techniques towards authentic leadership that results in a dynamic and resilient Central Banking work environment.

The course will focus on three foundational leadership concepts, namely:

  1. Leadership Brand. Enhancing one’s ability to influence by managing how one is perceived – which starts with self-knowledge and ends with consistent actions and behaviors.
  2. Emotional intelligence: Understanding and managing one’s emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict.
  3. Resilience: Bouncing forward after periods of challenges and setbacks, both in oneself and in the team.

SEACEN Leadership Competencies Addressed:

  • Adaptability
  • Talent Growth
  • Stakeholder Inclusiveness
