The SEACEN ASPIRE Leadership Courses are designed to set the stage for new and emerging middle-level managers to explore leadership as a personal journey of discovery and be inspired to transition and embrace leadership roles in their Central Banks.

There is no denying that leaders, now more than ever, are faced with unprecedented challenges and complex problems as the economies and financial services industries that they serve become more dynamic. Hence, new and emerging leaders need to be adaptive and adaptable towards possible changes while maintaining personal effectiveness and efficiency.  This entails discerning challenges, communicating effectively, and exemplifying behaviours that increase productivity and engagement.

The course will kick off with a discussion on the challenges that new leaders face in the current work environment and will focus on the mindset and behaviours that get results.

Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

-Examine the need for adaptive leadership in their Central Bank

-Define adaptive leadership

-Describe the adaptive leadership mindset

-Apply interventions that increase personal effectiveness and team communication

-Harness their own and team member’s strengths

-Reassess their professional network to support their own goals as adaptive leaders

Target Participants

This is an introductory course targeted towards new managers who have just transitioned or who are about to transition into a people manager role.

 

As this course entails highly interactive and immersive workshops, participants are expected to actively participate and commit to completing all exercises to derive maximum benefit. A sound working knowledge of the English language is a requisite for understanding the content and communicating effectively.

 

Resource Persons

The course will be led by the SEACEN Centre Faculty as well as subject matter experts in the industry. Leaders from member central banks may be invited to share their thoughts on adaptive leadership in the central banking context.
