The SEACEN Centre, in collaboration with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, will convene the Interim Workshop for the SEACEN Research Project on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation in SEACEN Economies” on 1–2 September 2026 in Manila.
The workshop will bring together central bank researchers, policymakers and invited experts to examine how artificial intelligence and digital transformation are shaping the work of central banks across the region. Discussions will cover the use of AI and machine learning for inflation monitoring and nowcasting, the implications of fintech and Big Tech credit for monetary policy transmission, digital financial inclusion, and the use of AI in monetary policy formulation and financial stability assessment.
Drawing on country studies from SEACEN member economies, the workshop will provide a forum for exchanging evidence, comparing experiences and identifying policy-relevant lessons as central banks adapt to rapid technological change.
