The SEACEN Centre and OMFIF (Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum) are pleased to present the SEACEN-OMFIF Policy Dialogue on the theme “The Dollar, the Renminbi, and the Evolution of the International Monetary System” that will be held at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur on May 31, 2017.  

The Policy Dialogue will explore the implications of the increasing role of the RMB for the international monetary system, for reserve management, for monetary and exchange rate policies, and for private sector transactions. The exchange of views will be preceded by introductory remarks by Mr. Sebastian Mallaby, Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), contributing columnist at the Washington Post, and the author of The Man Who Knew: The Life and Times of Alan Greenspan, Winner of the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.
After the presentation by Mr. Mallaby, Mr. David Marsh, Managing Director of OMFIF will moderate a discussion among a panel of distinguished experts including Lord Meghnad Jagdishchandra Desai, Emeritus Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Chairman of OMFIF, Dr. Hans Genberg, Executive Director of The SEACEN Centre, and Mr, Mallaby.
