We are pleased to welcome Dr Cynyoung Park as the new Executive Director of The SEACEN Centre, effective 1st October 2024.
Dr Park brings extensive experience from her previous role as the Director of the Regional Cooperation and Integration Division in the Economics Research and Regional Cooperation Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). During her tenure at ADB, she contributed to ADB’s major publications including the Asian Development Outlook. She actively participated in various global and regional forums such as the G20 Development Working Group, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), ASEAN+3, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), providing thought leadership on Asian economies and financial markets. Her work has been widely published in peer-reviewed academic journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of Futures Markets, Review of Income and Wealth, and the World Economy. In addition, she lectured extensively about the Asian economy and financial markets.
Dr Park holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics from Seoul National University.
