Dr. Darmin Nasution Appointed as Governor of Bank Indonesia as of 1 September 2010

In accordance with Presidential Decree No.95 / P of 2010 dated August 21, 2010, following his position as Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Dr. Darmin Nasution took the oath as the Governor of Bank Indonesia on 1 September  2010.

Dr. Nasution was born in Tapanuli on 21 December 1948. In 1986 he received his doctorate of Economics from the University of Paris, Sorbonne, France. He served as Director General of the Financial Institution from 2000-2005 and was subsequently named as Chairman of Indonesia’s Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency in 2006. The position held immediately prior to his appointment as Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia was Director General of Taxation.
