International Conference on Central Bank Accounting Practices

The SEACEN Centre in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India organised the International Conference on Central Bank Accounting Practices that was held in Mumbai, India on 14 and 15 November 2025. Delegates from over 20 central banks representing Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe as well as from the BIS and IMF attended the conference. The conference took stock of different accounting practices across central banks and how these are influenced by country specific circumstances. Specific topics that were discussed included the following:

  • Central bank mandates and functional structure of balance sheets
  • Perspectives on accounting practices of central banks
  • Financial reporting and disclosures
  • Central bank losses reporting – Does it matter?
