We are pleased to announce a collaborative policy brief between The Centre, the Council on Economic Policies and AMRO (ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office).

Authored by Julia B., Aziz Durrani and Cyn-Young Park, this policy brief examines how ASEAN financial authorities can respond to an era of compounding structural challenges, including climate risks, demographic change, technological disruption, geopolitical fragmentation, and the digitalisation of money and finance.

It argues that achieving sustainable prosperity will require more adaptive monetary and supervisory frameworks, a stronger focus on resilience, greater coordination across monetary, fiscal, and regulatory authorities, and a coherent regional approach to digital payments, stablecoins, and cross-border financial integration.

As ASEAN navigates profound economic transformation, the governance of finance will be critical to supporting resilience, inclusion, and long-term growth.
