Strengthening Capacity in External Sector Analysis and Capital Flows Management
The SEACEN Centre successfully concluded its Intermediate Course on Open Macroeconomy and External Sector Analysis II: Capital Account Liberalisation and Capital Flows Monitoring and Management, held from 20–24 July 2026 in Bali, Indonesia. The programme brought together 24 participants from nine central banks and monetary authorities across the SEACEN region to strengthen their understanding of capital flows, external sector vulnerabilities, and policy responses in an increasingly interconnected global economy. Designed as an intermediate-to-advanced programme, the course covered key topics including capital account liberalisation, capital flow management measures, foreign exchange intervention, exchange rate dynamics, global banking, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), and the IMF’s Integrated Policy Framework (IPF).
The programme was directed by Nur Ain Shahrier, along with the SEACEN Programme Coordinator, Ms. Haslina Muda.
