The SEACEN Centre Welcomes New Director Of Research and Learning Contents

 The SEACEN Centre is pleased to announce that Dr. Dongkoo Chang has been appointed the new Director of Research and Learning Contents as of 3 May 2012. Just prior to his appointment, Dr. Chang served as Director General of the Economic Education Institute of The Bank of Korea. In his 30 years with the Bank as a research economist, he has authored numerous publications. Specialised in monetary and international economics as well time series econometrics, he has led many research teams as a team leader.

Dr. Chang has had extensive experience as a lecturer in universities as well as the development of learning materials. He served as the Vice-President of the Association of Korean Economic Studies in 2010 where he was also a Council Member from 2010-2011. He was an Adjunct Professor at the Hankook University of Foreign Studies from 2010-2012 and currently sits as a Committee Member in various public and private entities. He had a stint as an Economist in the IMF from 1997-1999 and was posted as the Deputy Chief Representative of The Bank of Korea’s New York Office from 2007-2009.

Dr. Chang received both his Ph. D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Hawaii, Manoa while his B.A. in Economics is from Yonsei University in Korea.
