Accelerate: Leading Change in the Age of AI

Description

The SEACEN Accelerate Leadership Courses are designed to support senior leaders in strengthening their judgment and leadership effectiveness in complex and evolving environments, and in exploring practical approaches to leading people, making decisions and guiding institutions within today’s central banking context.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming embedded in the operations of central banks. The 2025 AI Survey by the SEACEN Centre revealed that AI adoption is already widespread across member central banks, with close to 9 in 10 institutions actively using AI tools. While AI is commonly introduced to drive automation and process optimisation, it is increasingly seen as a catalyst for innovation in how central banking work is organized and delivered.

Effective AI adoption is shaped by a range of technical and structural constraints; however, experience shows that these challenges are often secondary to leadership and change demands that accompany AI-driven transformation. Failing to prepare for these challenges will result in fragmented and limited AI adoption.

Leaders are therefore required to move beyond treating AI as a technology initiative and instead lead it as an organisational change journey. This involves breaking down silos, aligning technical and policy functions, building shared understanding of AI across the organization, and addressing cultural resistance and risk aversion.

Objective

This course provides a forum for leaders to navigate the challenges of translating AI potential into sustainable organizational change. It offers opportunities for senior leaders to build confidence in engaging with AI-related initiatives through practical examples, peer exchange and expert perspectives, while identifying leadership governance and organizational issues that commonly arise during AI adoption.
